true! (2024) - Full Installation View
"true!" is an attempt at creating singularity. In this iterative installation, I want to deconstruct and understand the United States, politics, the internet, human relationships, irony, post-modernism, and noise. As a bilingual immigrant who grew up isolated in his home country, I turned to television, movies, books, video games, music, and of course, the internet, to find connection. These mediums, these spaces, were all dominated by the United States. I fell for projections of people, a projection of culture, a projection of a place I could never be an active participant in. Neither Brazilian nor American, I am a passionate observer, a nomad drifting through spaces I cared about without ever being able to truly connect to them.
