An Unremarkable Dream (2021)
Escaping the mundane and work-centric culture of modern life is an
impossible luxury. In this project, I seek to provide a character with an
inconvenient escape from life, as he wakes up in the middle of a parking
lot. The protagonist realizes there is no way home and
slowly embraces his condition. The absurd costuming serves to contrast
with the blasé space the character is in and to reflect his desire to
separate himself from the life he is made to lead. Escaping the mundane
was never just about the location, but the conditions with which you are
placed in and interact with an environment. The character’s clothes,
the vibrance of the trees, and the golden almost dream-like lighting,
all lend to making a place as barren and uninteresting as a parking lot
seem peaceful and serene. By being forcefully placed into an unknown
place without a phone or map, he can finally escape, he has no other
